HP TouchPad will make its first steps in early July in France
The first bar of HP, TouchPad, will be landed in France in early July, days after its launch in the United States. It will be powered by WebOS, the mobile OS from Palm redemption. Presented earlier this year, the first tablet WebOS to HP, the TouchPad, will enter the French market in July, notes Silicon.fr.
The American manufacturer is thus a shot together for the launch of its product: it will arrive on July 1 in the U.S., the first week of July in Germany, France, Ireland and the United Kingdom, and from mid- July in Canada. The touchpad features a 9.7 inch screen with 1024 x 768 pixels (in a 19 x 24.2 x 1.37 cm. The slate is led by a powerful dual-core processor Qualcomm (APQ8060) 1, 2 GHz with 1 GB of RAM.
Initially, only the Wi-Fi version of this offer will be available in France. Grinds 16 GB and 32 GB will be accessible to the TouchPad respective retail prices of 479 Euros and 579 Euros VAT incl. HP plays the card of caution, proposing rates close to those of the iPad of Apple , though slightly lower.
If the TouchPad will struggle to dethrone Apple’s offer, its well-designed operating system could allow him to score points against the shelves Android, struggling to convince. A phenomenon that could increase later, HP is favorable to the distribution of its mobile OS to third party manufacturers, which could then be adopted within their own products.
It will also be an opportunity to check if the accusations of plagiarism against HP, Research In Motion (RIM), whose playbook is scheduled to arrive in June, are relevant.
