Dimension Data buys OpSource to point Cloud Service

The systems integrator Dimension Data plans to increase its offer in cloud services and acquires OpSource, a provider of hosted services.

Dimension Data announces’ acquisition of OpSource, a company specialized in offering cloud computing services for companies. The agreement will enable Dimension Data, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT’s holding company, to accelerate its bid for the field of cloud.

At the same time, Dimension Data created a business unit at the central level for specific cloud solutions. OpSource will be an integral part of the Cloud Solutions Business Unit of Dimension Data. More than 600 enterprises, service providers and independent software vendors-as-a-service already use the technology for the automation of the cloud of OpSource.

The contract is evidence of the decision of the vertices of Dimension Data to accelerate the focus on cloud services. In the last 5 years, Dimension Data has invested in skills for the cloud in areas related to virtualization, data center, storage, managed services, hosting and IT outsourcing.

Dimension Data has evaluated OpSource with interesting solutions for the automation and orchestration, and in particular the way in which these tools can be used in hybrid systems is cloud. OpSource cloud platforms are hosted in data centers of NTT America with an extension of data centers by NTT Europe for the third quarter of this year.
